The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the extension of the deadline for the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Literary Competition from 28 February to 14 March 2026, providing more time for talented young Nigerians to participate and contribute to national development through creative expression.

The competition, which was launched on 21 November 2025 at the instance of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, is designed to inspire innovation and forward-thinking among the nation’s youth. It is themed “Optimising Emerging Technologies for Enhanced Air Operations.”

According to the NAF, the extension aims to widen participation and give more young people the opportunity to showcase their ideas and talents in various categories, including Essay, Art, and Poetry.

The Service noted that the competition aligns with its broader commitment to youth engagement, technological advancement, and intellectual development. By encouraging young Nigerians to explore the role of emerging technologies in strengthening air operations, the initiative seeks to nurture a new generation of thinkers and innovators who can contribute meaningfully to the country’s security and development.

Interested participants have been urged to take advantage of the extended deadline and submit entries before 14 March 2026. The NAF emphasised that the competition offers an invaluable platform for creativity, innovation, and national impact, while also promoting awareness of the importance of technology in modern air power.

The Air Force further reaffirmed its dedication to supporting programmes that empower the youth, foster creativity, and build a stronger, more secure future for Nigeria.
