The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has paid glowing tribute to Air Chief Marshal Paul Dike, a former Chief of the Air Staff and later Chief of Defence Staff, during a warm courtesy visit in Lagos.

The visit, which took place on the sidelines of the CAS’s operational engagement in Lagos, was marked by deep professional respect and personal appreciation, reflecting the Nigerian Air Force’s enduring tradition of honouring its past leaders.

Air Marshal Aneke commended Air Chief Marshal Dike for his exceptional leadership, sacrifices, and mentorship, noting that the impact of former service chiefs continues to resonate strongly within the Service.

According to the CAS, interactions with elder statesmen of the Nigerian Air Force go beyond courtesy, offering valuable strategic perspectives while reinforcing the values that sustain airpower across generations.

He described the engagement as both reflective and motivating, emphasizing that the strength of the Air Force lies in continuity, shared ideals, and pride in service to the nation.

Air Marshal Aneke further noted that recognising and learning from the experiences of retired senior officers helps to inspire serving personnel and strengthens institutional memory, ensuring that the legacy of excellence built by previous generations remains a guiding force for the present and future of the Nigerian Air Force.
