Nollywood faith-based film Agbára Nlá: The Return has grossed over N307.2 million at the box office, emerging as the highest-grossing Nollywood film ever released in October and the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood title of 2026.
The film’s distributor, Nile Group, announced the milestone in an Instagram post on Friday, thanking audiences for their overwhelming support and sold-out cinema screenings.
The latest figure represents a significant increase from the N170.6 million the film earned within its first four days in cinemas, following its release on October 1, 2026.
The distributor had earlier described the film’s opening as the biggest non-December Nollywood opening weekend, the biggest October opening weekend and the biggest opening weekend for a faith-based film.
Agbára Nlá: The Return is a remake of the 1993 Christian film created by renowned filmmaker Mike Bamiloye. The new version was directed by his sons, Damilola Mike-Bamiloye and Joshua “Jay Mikee” Mike-Bamiloye.
Its box-office performance marks a major milestone for faith-based filmmaking in Nigeria, more than three decades after the original production.
