The Commander Infantry Corps, Major General Godwin Mutkut, alongside other senior formation commanders in Kaduna State, on Tuesday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Major General SBS Biliyork (Rtd), former Commander Infantry Corps, at his residence in Barnawa, Kaduna State.
During the visit on 24 February 2026, Major General Mutkut expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the revered senior officer, describing his death as a painful loss not only to his immediate family but also to the Nigerian Army and the nation at large.
He conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, as well as officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army. The Commander prayed that Almighty God grants the family the strength to bear the irreparable loss and repose the soul of the departed.
In a statement signed by Captain Lawal Abubakar, Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations, Headquarters Infantry Corps, Major General Mutkut noted that the late Major General Biliyork lived an exemplary life of service, discipline and dedication, virtues that align with the core values of the Nigerian Army.
He urged the bereaved family to take solace in the honourable legacy of professionalism, integrity and commitment left behind by the late officer, whose contributions to the growth and operational effectiveness of the Infantry Corps remain indelible.
