The javelin event at the ongoing BIPOGA 2026 showcased a thrilling blend of strength, technique and precision, as competitors delivered powerful throws that drew cheers from spectators and officials alike. In the Women’s Long Jump final, CPL Precious Okoronkwo of Force Headquarters emerged as the champion with an impressive leap of 5.50 metres. Onuejizu of Zone 16 secured second position with 4.43 metres, while Obinwune of Zone 13 finished third with 4.12 metres.
The Triple Jump event also produced remarkable performances. Akinoso Adebayo of Zone 2 claimed first place with a jump of 13.42 metres. PC Olajimeji Toyin of Zone 17 came second with 13.01 metres, while Inspector Gift Opurum of Zone 16 took third position with 10.61 metres.
In wrestling, the 97kg Greco-Roman category saw Shadrac Hung of Force Headquarters clinch the gold medal. Molokai Anthony of Zone 13 finished second, while Nweze Kingsley of Zone 9 and Theman Luka of Zone 3 placed third and fourth respectively.
Meanwhile, Zone 9 dominated the wrestling competition, securing first-place finishes in the 87kg, 67kg, 77kg, 74kg and 86kg categories, reinforcing their strong presence and competitive edge at the games.
