The Nigerian Navy has commissioned the Mollah Primary Health Care Centre in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State as part of the Chief of the Naval Staff Special Quick Impact Project (CNS-SQIP), reaffirming its commitment to civil–military cooperation and grassroots development.
The commissioning ceremony, which took place on Wednesday, 21 January 2026, was facilitated by Rear Admiral Kohath Gyelpanyi Levi and is aimed at improving access to quality primary healthcare services for Mollah Town and surrounding communities.
Ahead of the event, Rear Admiral Levi paid a courtesy visit to the Tol Hulba, His Royal Majesty Tol Alheri Bulus Nyako, to seek royal blessings and underscore the Nigerian Navy’s respect for traditional institutions. The visit highlighted the importance of community engagement, local ownership, and partnership in ensuring the sustainability and effective utilization of development-oriented projects.
The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, was represented at the ceremony by the Director of Policy, Naval Headquarters, Rear Admiral Adamu Yahaya. In remarks delivered on behalf of the CNS, he stated that the project reflects the Nigerian Navy’s people-centred approach to security and development, noting that the facility complements government efforts to strengthen primary healthcare delivery at the grassroots.
He added that the health centre would serve as a first point of care for residents, help reduce preventable diseases, and improve maternal and child health outcomes within the host community and neighbouring settlements.
Community leaders and beneficiaries expressed profound appreciation to the Nigerian Navy for what they described as a timely and impactful intervention, noting that the facility would significantly improve healthcare access and overall wellbeing in the area.
The commissioning was formally carried out by the representative of the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health and Human Services, Pharmacist Zirra Mathias Bubanani.
The event drew the presence of top government functionaries, including the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, senior state officials, traditional rulers, sons and daughters of Mollah Town, and representatives of neighbouring communities. Their attendance underscored broad stakeholder support for initiatives that promote sustainable development, social welfare, and stronger civil–military relations in Adamawa State.
The commissioning of the Mollah Primary Health Care Centre further reaffirms the Nigerian Navy’s resolve to use the CNS-SQIP as a strategic platform for delivering meaningful socio-economic impact while fostering trust and cooperation between the military and civilian population.
