Efforts at ridding North Western Nigeria of banditry received a major boost over the weekend as NAF Air component of Troops of Operation Hadarin Daji sustained its attacks on bandits' strongholds, most especially Bello Turji camp, located in Sokoto and Katsina, destroying Bandits logistics and killing several members of the Bandits group.

According to our source said, in Sokoto, from 16-17 December 2021, strikes were conducted by NAF aircraft at bandits camps in Isa, Sabon Birni axis and East Tozei where several  bandits were said to have been eliminated while others escaped in disarray with different types of injuries.

Furthermore on the morning of 18 Dec 21, airstrikes were carried out in Gebe Village, Sokoto State where bandits were hitherto harassing innocent citizens.

Local sources have confirmed that the strikes neutralised many bandit leaders and their followers.

Several kidnapped victims were also freed during the operation. The whereabouts of the bandit leaders are yet to known.

Other sources have also confirmed that some captives from Bello Turji camp have escaped due to effect of the ongoing Operation.

In Katsina State, persistent air strikes by NAF aircraft were conducted in Rugu Hills, a well-known hideout of notorious bandits where many of them were subsequently neutralised and motorbikes were destroyed.

The successes of these strikes have led to jubilation among the locals of the effected communities who have commended the military while urging them to sustain their efforts.

The air strikes were part of the ongoing joint operations by both NAF and Army troops under Operation Hadarin Daji which  is no doubt yielding positive results.
