IGP Disu Visits Family of Fallen Police Officer, Assures Continued Support

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has paid a condolence visit to the family of late Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ejeh Alfred, who died in the line of duty.


The visit took place on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the family’s residence in Abuja, where the police chief met with the widow, Mrs. Mercy Ejeh, her children, and other relatives.


ASP Ejeh, a driver attached to the Nigeria Police Airwing, lost his life during an operational mission on April 17, 2026.


During the visit, the IGP expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family, describing the late officer as a dedicated and committed professional whose sacrifice to the nation would not be forgotten.


He assured the family of the Nigeria Police Force’s continued support, emphasizing that the welfare of officers and the families of those who die in active service remains a top priority.


The police chief reiterated his commitment to improving personnel welfare, noting that the bravery and dedication of officers on the frontline are critical to national security.


He also offered prayers for the repose of the late officer’s soul and pledged that the Force would stand by the family in their time of grief.
