BREAKING: FG Arrests IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu

The Federal Government has arrested the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami(SAN), who made the disclosure to journalists on Tuesday, revealed that Kanu was arrested and brought back to Nigeria on Sunday.

He said the arrest followed a collaborative effort between security agencies in Nigeria and Interpol.
Malami further disclosed that Kanu would be taken before the Federal High Court in Abuja for the continuation of his trial on charges bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, unlawful possession of firearms, and management of an unlawful society.

Nnamdi Kanu does not possess the humility and vision of a revolutionary. I doubt if he knew what he was up against, and how to go about it. A revolutionary does not insult the people he fights for the way he insults the people he fights against. If he does that he would not have the support of the people he fight for: he would not have the blessing of the elders neither would he have credible cadres to work with. Nnamdi Kanu is so full of himself that he does not if he must succeed in his revolutionary movement he would need the support and encouragement of most of the organised groups in South East and South South. Nnamdi Kanu is like the little, brainless girl in my neighborhood who finished sitting for JAMB and began straightaway looking for roommates, and deciding who and who would not be allowed to share her room with her. On the other hand, Nnamdi Kanu is too wishful and too boastful: these are scarcely the hallmarks of a dedicated revolutionary. Of a truth, I must confess that his utterances and body-language used to make me cover my face in shame and wonder how a revolutionist can be so tactless. I bet he didn't have a clear-cut idea of what he wanted. Otherwise, he would have known how to go about doing. I sincerely think the Fulani Jihadists and even Sunday Inigo are better revolutionaries.

Nnamdi Kanu is so full of himself that he does not know that if he must succeed in his revolutionary movement he would need the support and encouragement of most of the elders and organised groups in the South East and the South South. He would have known how to appeal to their sensibilIities, and not to insult them. I bet he didn't have a clear-cut idea of what he wanted. Otherwise, he would know how to go about doing it. I sincerely think the Fulani Jihadists and even Sunday Ingboho are better revolutionaries and freedom fighters.

As an Igboho man, may I advise my Igbo brothers: the sooner we realize that the Igbo nation is a conceited nation, and this attribute is making the people a target of attack, the better it would be for us. The other thing is that although the Igbo nation is a hardworking, industrious group of people, that does not give them the right to begin to think they are a special breed. Other nations and tribes in Nigeria do not like the Igbo thinking they are a rare and august breed nation. And using the government they have always wanted to humble the Igbo nation and bring them down to their knees. The Igbo nation is about the only nation in Nigeria that thinks they can go it alone. Why won't they forget what happened in the Civil War and mend fences with their cousins in the South South. After all, the elder must placate the younger and even sometimes, allow the younger to have his way so that the former Eastern region can speak in one voice again and become relevant in the scheme of things in this country?

Nnamdi Kanu's tactless moves and wishful thinking have further jeopardiced the Igbo nation and the entire people of 'Biafra'. Who are the Biafrans if not the whole body of people living in and around the Bight of Biafra? But I doubt if Nnamdi Kanu knows that. I doubt if he knows that the Igbo nation does not live in the immediate vicinity of the Bight of Biafra but the Ijaw nation does, the Kalabari does, the Oron and Efik nations do: hence, these people are the original Biafrans. When Nnamdi Kanu and other people like him would talk Biafra, they should remember that the Igbo nation is far inland from the Bight of Biafra, so have no exclusive claim over the envisioned Biafran Republic.
