Jack Dorsey has just sold his first-ever tweet from 15years ago for an amount slightly above $2.9m.
The tweet, which was sold as a kind of digital certificate, non-fungible token (NFT) on Monday, 22nd March 2021 had greatly exploded in popularity since the present year.
Dorsey’s first tweet which reads: “just setting up my Twitter,” was made on March 21, 2006.
It was sold via an auction on the “Valuables”, a platform owned by US-based company, Cent.
CEO and co-founder of Cent confirmed the sale.
He said the tweet was bought by Sina Estavi with Twitter profile @sinaEstavi, using the cryptocurrency Ether (ETH) for 1630.5825601 ETH, worth $2,915,835.47 at the time of sale.
