The excessive use of alcohol-based hand sanitisers wipes off fingerprints along with COVID 19 viruses, a report has said.
The report submitted last month by Dr. Anshul Warman, an Indian Dermatologist warned that excessive use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers can cause abrasions of the skin's upper layer which in turn prevents proper fingerprint recognition by biometric machines.
Several offices in India have reported that staff members had difficulties registering their biometrics for attendance post-COVID 19 pandemic.
Experts who blame the nature of alcohol for the phenomenon said the condition is temporary and can be avoided by:
-Using soap instead of alcohol-based sanitisers.
-Using a moisturiser instead of an alcohol-based sanitizer.
-Using vitamin A supplement for faster skin regeneration.
