Renowned Ibadan-based Islamic cleric, Alhaji Taofeek Akewugbagold, yesterday has discontinued the litigation he caused against the suspected abductors of his twin children.
Akewugbagold withdrew the charges against suspected abductors of his twin kids at the Oyo State High Court, Ringroad Ibadan.
The cleric’s twins aged two years and four months were kidnapped at gunpoint from their residence in the Ojoo area of Ibadan on April 17, 2020.
Findings showed the suspects collected N4 million from the cleric before releasing the twins.
Two of the kidnappers were employees of the cleric, based on findings.
At the resumption of hearing of the suit yesterday, Akewugbagold informed the court he had forgiven the suspects and wanted the case struck out.
