A woman has arrested her former lover whom she had paid to marry her According to reports, a woman allegedly got her former lover arrested for getting another woman pregnant. The woman identified as Ogechi Obinma, had allegedly paid her lover 29-year-old Chukwuemeka Obodozie, the sum of N280,000 to make him marry her.
According to reports, Obodozie had told Obinma that he needed to clear goods sent to him by his elder brother abroad, stating that the goods needed to be cleared first before they could carry out their introduction and traditional marriage. Obinma did not realize it was a plot by Obodozie to dump her and move on to a woman who was already pregnant with his baby. Obodozie allegedly confessed when Obinma saw the pregnant woman in his house, that he was responsible for the pregnancy and needed the money to take care of the woman and her baby.
According to Obinma, Obodozie told her to forget about getting her money back, as it was a form of sacrifice for their 2-years-old relationship. Refusing to accept the ‘offer’ Obinma took the matter to the police after Obodozie threatened to kill her, asking to get her money back in full from him as she didn’t want to be the financier of his marriage to someone else. Obodozie was allegedly arrested and charged with obtaining money under false pretenses and threat to life. When he appeared before a magistrate’s court sitting at Ejigbo, Lagos state, he pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
