On March 2, 2015, Nigerian soul singer, Bez Idakula and his wife, Bolatito Bez-Idakula welcomed their first child. Sadly, the baby passed away just 24 hours after she was delivered. The couple got married in January 2014 but in a touching and revealing post on her blog, Bez’s wife, Bolatito has shared the full story of how she lost her first child after 42 weeks of pregnancy due to a condition called congenital diaphragmatic hernia, an extremely rare condition in which the diaphragm does not fully develop and has a hole.
‘In my daughter’s case, her heart ended up being pushed to the right and her lungs barely developed. In fact, she only had one lung and that was almost undeveloped. The summary of this, they told me, is that once she was born, she won’t be able to breathe on her own due to lack of lungs and the positioning of the heart,’ the daughter of former governor of Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja wrote.
