portrayal as Jesus, and several other nominations.
HENRY IAN CUSICK
Known for his role in the show "Lost", Cusick portrayed
Jesus in the movie "The Gospel Of John." Although the
movie lost money, bringing in only $4 million at the box
office on a $10 million budget, the movie was praised for
being well acted.
CHRISTIAN BALE
Many do not realize that the famous "Batman" actor also
played Jesus in the movie "Mary, Mother Of Jesus."
Although the movie focused more on Mary, Christian
played Jesus quite well.
WILL FERRELL
Will is best known for his comedic antics, as well as his
hilarious movies. Will portrayed Jesus in the movie
"Superstar," although the role lasted only briefly in the

CHRIS SARANDON
Chris is well known for his portrayal of villains in the
movies "The Princess Bride" and "Fright Night." Prior to
those movies, he played Jesus in the 1980 movie "The

RALPH FIENNES
Ralph loaned his voice to portray Jesus in the clay-mation
movie, "The Miracle Maker." Although this was an unusual
way to portray Jesus, it still worked well on the screen.
VICTOR GARBER
The movie "Godspell," had a hippy-clown rendition of the
portrayal of Jesus and was played by ever-talented
Garber. He is better known for his work on "Titanic,"
"Legally Blonde," and "Alias."
ROBERT TORTI
"Reefer Madness" was a movie as well as a musical,
based heavily on the use of marijuana. Robert played as a
well-built, singing Jesus in the Showtime adaptation of the
stage play. He is better known for his roles on daytime
soaps, such as "The Young and the Restless" and "Days of
Our Lives," but you may also recognize him from "That
Thing You Do" and "She's the Man."
TED NEELEY
Ted portrayed Jesus in "Jesus Christ Superstar." He was a
singer and drummer by trade. Originally, he wanted the
role of Judas and had auditioned for the part on Broadway,
but received the role of Jesus.He more recently appeared
in "Django Unchained" along with Jamie Foxx.
HENRY BYRON WARNER
In 1927, Henry portrayed Jesus in "The King Of Kings;" not
to be mistaken for the 1961 movie. This was a silent film,
and Henry was actually a replacement Jesus for his
brother, who had passed away.

The movie "Jesus Of Nazareth" from 1977, garnered some
success for Robert for his portrayal of Jesus in the movie.
Production and cinematography of the movie also earned
several awards. Robert also narrates the British release of
the miniseries "The Bible."

nominated for five Oscars, with co-stars such as John
Wayne, Charlton Heston, and Angela Lansbury. His career
