The wife of an elderly monarch in Ondo state has died 10 days after she was kidnapped.
Olori Dupe Lumure, the wife of Oba Ayelomi of Ayeka in Okitipupa area of Ondo State was kidnapped last week at her home in Erinje area of the state.
Two days after her abduction, the kidnappers demanded for 30 million naira from the monarch.
After back and forth negotiations, the kidnappers agreed to N2 Million only for the family to see the corpse of the queen dumped along Ode Aye along Ore Road.
Police sources hinted that a disagreement ensued among the abductors that the amount agreed upon was too small. However, the family was informed to come with the ransom and pick the Olori at Sagamu, Ogun State.
They later changed it to Ode-Aye in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State. Vanguard gathered that after waiting endlessly till 3a.m. on the day, they left.
The son of the deceased, Taye said the family is devastated by the death of his mother.
Olori Dupe’s corpse has been deposited at the Okitipupa Specialist Hospital mortuary.
