The Nigerian Navy has dismissed a rating, identified as SMUW Bello M X14540, after he was found guilty of desertion from service.
According to the Nigerian Navy, the personnel had been absent without official leave for a total of 1,346 days, a duration considered a serious breach of military discipline and regulations.
Authorities stated that following due process, the rating was declared culpable and subsequently removed from naval service
The Navy also issued a caution to the public, warning that the dismissed individual should no longer be regarded as a serving naval personnel. It emphasized that anyone who engages with him under the assumption that he represents the Navy does so at their own risk.
