4 New Lagos Movement (#4NL) a Non-Governmental organization which is an arm of The 4 New Nigeria (#4NN) Project unveiled the first phase of a series of activities, interventions and events they have designed to achieve a NEW LAGOS at a red carpet press launch at Protea Hotels, Ikeja, Lagos recently Here .The launch focused on the choice of Jimi Agbaje as the governor of Lagos State come 2015. The think tank of #4NL is made up of the cream of the crop in the Nigerian Entertainment industry, the likes of Alex Okoroji, Femi Branch, Yemi Blaq, Ruggedman, Biodun Okeowo, Bayray Mcnwizu, Mayowa Adewale, John Njamah, Denrele Edun, Kalu Ikeagwu, Ego Ogbaro, Joseph Benjamin, Segun Obe, Ronke Odusanya, Wale Adebayo, Femi Brainard, Tokunbo Coker and Grace Amah. About The Man; Jimi Agbaje
Mr. Joseph Olujimi Kolawole Agbaje was born in Lagos on 2nd March 1957 to late Chief Joseph Kosebinu (banker) and Mrs. Margaret Olabisi (teacher) Agbaje. He is the second born and the first male child of five children (two female and two male siblings).
He attended St. Mary’s Private School, Lagos & Corona School education; St. Gregory’s College, Obalende for his secondary education before proceeding to the University of Ife, Ile-Ife for his university education.
A scion of the Onilegbale Chieftaincy family of Lagos and Lasuwon family in Ikorodu, he trained as a pharmacist graduating from Nigeria’s premier tertiary institution, the university of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm. Hons.) in 1978.
After a few years as managing pharmacist for a private pharmacy, he formed his own company, JAYKAY PHARMACY LTD. In 1984 and opened first community outlet the same year. Jaykay Pharmacy Ltd. has since expanded into a pharmaceutical company involved in the manufacture and distribution of high quality pharmaceuticals across the country.
A consummate professional, he has been a member of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (1999 – 2006). He was National Secretary Nigerian Association of General Practice Pharmacists (NAGPP) from 1987 – 1990, National Chairman NAGPP (1990 – 1993), Chairman Pharmaceutical society of Nigeria Lagos State (1994 – 1997).
Mr. Agbaje has served on many committees boards representing his pharmacy constituency . He was a member, Lagos State Task force on Fake and Adulterated Drugs (1989 – 1993), member National Drug Formulary and Essential Drugs List (1986 – 1993), Member Lagos Hospitals Management Board (1994 – 1997).
A passionate pharmacist, he has delivered many papers over the years at different fora. A few of them included “The Counterfeit Problem and its impact on Public Health; a Nigerian Perspective “ delivered at the F.I.P (Federation Internationale de Pharmacie ) at the Hague , Netherlands.
