Interesting weekend for Falcons, U-20 Eagles


NIGERIA’S women football team, the Super Falcons and the country’s U-20 side the Flying Eagles made it a twin celebration for their compatriots, scoring convincing victories in their respective continental assignments in Kigali and Kaduna respectively.
The Falcons defeated the She-Amavubi of Rwanda by 4-1 in Kigali in the first leg of the second round to take a giant step towards qualifying for the Africa Women Championship. The game, which is the first leg of the second round of qualifiers, was played at the Umuganda Stadium in Gisenyi, Rwanda, on Saturday. 
In an African Youth Championship (AYC) qualifier decided in Kaduna, the Flying Eagles defeated their Tanzanian counterparts by 4-1 in a second leg match to qualify on a 6-1 goal aggregate having defeated the Junior Taifa Stars by 2-0 in the first leg decided in Dar-es-Salam last fortnight.
