Ondo State First Baby Of The Year Receives Special Gifts From Government And A Non-Governmental Organization


No fewer than thirty babies born at the twilight of 2013 and the beginning of this year in Ondo State have been showered with gifts in cash and kind by the wife of the state governor, Mrs Olukemi Mimiko, The ministry of health and some voluntary organizations like Junior Chamber International Akure Chapter led by the chapter president, Kunle Omowaye. 
During a visit to the state specialist hospital, Akure,Mrs Mimiko who was represented by the commissioner for women Affairs,lady Yemi Mahmud Fasominu appealed to woman to show more supprt for the government which has put up several policies and programmes to enhance their welfare. Also speaking after visiting the mother and child hospital, Akure and the Arakale basic health centre,the commissioner for health,Dr dayo Adeyanju who was impressed with the quality of babies said there would be a lot of consolidation on gains recorded at the primary health cares level this year. Baby Olaribigbe who was born at about 12:25am at the state specialist hospital,led the pack of the new year babies. The lucky mothers some of whom were not indigenes of Ondo State were full of gratitude to the government for its concern for mothers and children. See more pictures after jump...
