The Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA) has paid condolence visits to the families of crew members and passengers who died in the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) ATR-42 aircraft crash at Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, on October 5, 2026.
The visits, conducted through NAFOWA chapters across the country, were aimed at expressing the Association’s sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved families following the tragedy.
Representing the National President of NAFOWA, Mrs. Ngozi Aneke, members conveyed the Association’s heartfelt condolences to the affected families, assuring them of its support during the difficult period.
“This is a profoundly painful moment for the entire Nigerian Air Force family, the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the wider Nigerian nation and people everywhere who recognise the value of every human life,” the Association said.
NAFOWA added that it shared in the grief of the bereaved families and assured them that they were not alone as they coped with the loss of their loved ones.
The Association also reaffirmed its commitment to providing welfare and humanitarian support to military families, stressing that its intervention would extend beyond the immediate period of mourning.
According to NAFOWA, sustained attention would be given to the welfare needs of the spouses and children left behind by the victims.
The condolence visits complement ongoing efforts by the Nigerian Air Force leadership to provide support to families affected by the crash.
As investigations into the incident continue, NAFOWA prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the victims and called attention to the need for sustained institutional care for families navigating the painful consequences of the loss.
