0 Admin

Rear Admiral A. Ahmed has reportedly become the first Nigerian military officer to attain four professional “dagger” qualifications, marking a rare achievement in the country’s Armed Forces.

Ahmed holds the Fellow Defence College (fdc++), Fellow Naval War College (fwc+), Fellow Air War College (fawc+), and Passed Staff College (psc+) qualifications.

The distinctions reflect advanced professional military education across strategic defence, naval warfare, air warfare and command and staff training.

His fdc(++) qualification signifies fellowship of the Defence College, while the fwc(+) and fawc(+) distinctions represent fellowship-level qualifications from the Naval War College and Air War College respectively. He also holds the psc(+) qualification from the Staff College.

The combination of the four qualifications places Rear Admiral Ahmed in a rare category within Nigeria’s military professional education system.

The achievement underscores the importance of continuous military education and inter-service professional development in preparing senior officers for complex command, leadership and strategic responsibilities.

With the four distinctions attached to his name, Rear Admiral Ahmed has emerged as a notable example of cross-service professional military education and academic excellence within the Nigerian Armed Forces.
