The Nigeria Police Force has reported a series of operational successes across 10 states, including arrests linked to kidnapping, armed robbery, homicide, defilement, cultism and other crimes.
According to the State-by-State Executive Summary of police operations released on Sunday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, the operations were carried out between September 17 and 20, 2026.
In Oyo State, police arrested three suspects linked to separate cases involving a suspected kidnapping syndicate, armed robbery and abduction, and the alleged sexual assault of a three-year-old girl. A serving Air Force personnel was among those arrested in connection with the Ibadan case, while a blue Toyota Camry allegedly used during the operation was recovered. Police also recovered a blood-stained boxer short and a Panasonic tape in the Saki case.
In Kogi State, detectives arrested two suspects in separate incidents. One was arrested over a fatal shooting at Ohunene Community, Ajaokuta Local Government Area, with the barrel gun allegedly used in the incident recovered. Another suspect was arrested following a reported missing-person case in Anyigba, Dekina LGA.
Delta State recorded arrests in three separate operations. Police arrested two suspects over alleged defilement cases, including the alleged defilement of an eight-year-old girl at Okwagbe Waterside Community. Both victims were taken to hospitals for medical examination and treatment. In another operation, police and community vigilantes raided a criminal black spot at Umusadege, Kwale, where three suspects were arrested over alleged drug trafficking and cult-related activities.
In Kano State, police arrested a female suspect in connection with the death of her husband at Katsalle Quarters, Rogo LGA, while in Cross River State, police and the VCRU tracked and arrested a suspect following a viral video allegedly showing cult-related firearm discharge in Calabar.
Other operations included the recovery of a white Toyota Camry involved in a fatal road traffic incident in Nasarawa State and the recovery of a blood-stained machete at the scene of a suspected homicide in Gombe State.
In Bayelsa State, police moved a murder suspect to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yenagoa for protective custody following community unrest at Ebedebiri, Sagbama LGA. Tactical teams were also deployed to restore law and order in the community.
The Force said the various cases are being investigated by the respective State Criminal Investigation Departments, while urging citizens to continue supporting the police with credible information to combat crime and maintain public safety.
