The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results of all underage candidates for viewing.
In a statement issued on Saturday, JAMB’s Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocols, Fabian Benjamin, said an underage candidate for the 2026 admission exercise is any candidate who will be below 16 years old by September 30, 2026.
The Board, however, stressed that making the results available does not automatically qualify the candidates for admission into tertiary institutions.
JAMB said the results were released mainly to enable candidates and their parents or guardians to assess their performance. Except for candidates who meet the requirements for exceptional consideration, the results cannot be used for admission or other official purposes.
Candidates can check their results by sending RESULT to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during UTME registration.
JAMB reiterated that only exceptionally performing underage candidates who satisfy its stringent requirements would be considered for admission. Such candidates must obtain a minimum UTME score of 320 and at least 80 per cent in relevant SSCE subjects, where applicable.
They must also meet the Post-UTME requirements of their chosen institutions and undergo a final assessment by designated experts.
The Board warned candidates who do not meet the exceptional admission criteria against presenting their results to institutions or individuals in an attempt to secure admission.
JAMB said the rigorous assessment process is designed to ensure that only underage candidates who demonstrate exceptional academic ability and the maturity required for tertiary education are admitted.
