Two persons have been abducted, while two others sustained gunshot wounds in separate attacks in Bauchi State.
In the first incident, suspected kidnappers abducted two persons at Nasarawa Gwaram in Alkaleri Local Government Area at about 12:20 a.m. on August 20.
Troops of the 33 Artillery Brigade, deployed at a Forward Operating Base in Alkaleri, responded to information about the incident and mobilised alongside other security agencies and local vigilantes.
The troops confirmed the abduction and have launched operations to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
Security personnel are currently combing the area and tracking the fleeing kidnappers, while efforts are also being made to prevent further attacks.
Meanwhile, two civilians sustained gunshot wounds in a separate attack at Kasuwan Naira village in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area.
The incident occurred at about 9:00 p.m. on August 19, when two armed youths reportedly opened fire at a provision store in the village.
Troops of Sector 8, Sub-Sector 82, deployed at Lere, responded to reports of sporadic shootings and found that two civilians had been injured.
The victims were evacuated to the General Hospital, Tafawa Balewa, where they are receiving treatment.
The attackers reportedly fled through nearby bushes after the shooting, prompting security forces to launch a manhunt for the suspects.
Security measures have since been intensified across the affected communities, while residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to the authorities.
