Sustained Military Pressure Triggers 213% Rise In Terrorists’ Surrender

0 Admin

Sustained military operations by troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have triggered a 213 per cent increase in the number of terrorist fighters and associates surrendering across the North-East Theatre of Operations.

The development, recorded over the past week, represents a significant increase compared with the preceding week and is attributed to intensified ground operations, engagements against terrorist positions and sustained disruption of terrorist logistics and supply routes.

According to the Theatre Command, the growing number of surrenders indicates that continued military pressure is affecting the cohesion, morale and operational capacity of terrorist elements across the theatre.

The trend was further reinforced by the surrender of two high-profile terrorist members, who reportedly surrendered to troops with arms, ammunition and other military items.

The recovery of the weapons and ammunition, according to the military, provides further evidence that sustained operations are weakening the ability of terrorist groups to retain fighters, replenish their resources and sustain prolonged operations.

In a related development, other terrorist members surrendered to troops of 202 Battalion, Bama, on August 7, 2026, at New Abaram, following sustained military operations and internal disagreements within their enclave.

The surrendered individuals were screened, while mobile phones and other items were recovered from them before they were handed over for further action in accordance with established procedures.

The Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, said the surrender demonstrated the growing impact of sustained military pressure and internal fractures within terrorist ranks.

The Theatre Command said its multi-dimensional approach, combining offensive ground operations, precision engagements and systematic disruption of terrorist logistics networks, had continued to restrict the terrorists’ ability to manoeuvre, regroup and replenish their resources.

It added that the increasing frequency of surrenders was not merely a series of isolated incidents but reflected the cumulative impact of sustained military pressure and the gradual erosion of terrorist capability and cohesion.

Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining legitimate military pressure against terrorist elements while providing appropriate channels for those willing to abandon violence and surrender.

The Theatre Command also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies and encouraged terrorists and their associates to abandon violence and take advantage of established surrender channels.
