The Nigeria Police Force has recorded fresh operational successes across several states, rescuing seven abducted victims in Borno State, six victims from a suspected baby factory in Ogun State and arresting at least 10 suspects over alleged armed robbery, murder, stealing, cultism and child trafficking-related offences.
The latest achievements were contained in the State-by-State Executive Summary of Police Operational Successes for August 25, 2026, signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu
In Borno State, all seven persons abducted along the Dikwa–Gamboru Road regained their freedom following sustained operational pressure and intelligence-led follow-up operations by Police tactical units. Two of the victims reportedly escaped from their abductors, while the remaining five were rescued by security teams.
The victims are currently being debriefed as investigations continue to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
In Ogun State, Police operatives acting on credible intelligence raided a suspected baby factory in Mowe, rescuing two pregnant women and four children.
Five suspects were arrested in connection with suspected child trafficking, illegal adoption and related offences. Police said investigations were ongoing to locate a newborn baby whose whereabouts remain unknown.
In another Ogun operation, two suspects were arrested over the alleged theft of construction materials and equipment from a company store.
Meanwhile, in Akwa Ibom State, operatives of the Eagle Response Team arrested five suspected armed robbers at their hideout following investigations into a reported robbery incident.
The suspects were allegedly identified through CCTV footage and reportedly confessed to the crime. Two locally-made pistols and clothing said to have been worn during the operation were recovered.
Police in Enugu State also arrested a female suspect following a raid on a suspected criminal hideout at Akpaoga Nike. One fabricated gun and multiple ATM cards were recovered, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend an alleged accomplice.
In Kano State, two robbery suspects were arrested in connection with the theft of an ash-coloured Haojue motorcycle, which was subsequently recovered.
Other operations led to the arrest of murder suspects in Cross River and Ebonyi states, as well as two suspected cultists in Ekiti State.
In Abia State, Police operatives rescued a kidnapped victim after armed hoodlums allegedly abandoned him and fled into the bush on sighting the Police team. The victim was rescued unhurt and his motorcycle recovered.
The Force also said rescue and search operations had been activated in Niger, Gombe, Kogi and Oyo states following separate abduction incidents.
In Osun State, a Police patrol vehicle forcefully taken during an attack on patrol personnel along the Ibadan–Ife Expressway was recovered at the Irewole Local Government Secretariat.
Nine expended ammunition shells were recovered from the scene, while intensive efforts continue to apprehend the attackers and recover a service rifle and 30 rounds of live ammunition reportedly taken during the attack.
The various cases have been transferred to the respective State Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation, while efforts continue to apprehend fleeing suspects and rescue victims still in captivity.
The latest operational update follows a series of recent state-by-state Police reports showing continued intelligence-led operations, arrests, victim rescues and recoveries across Nigeria.
