A senior lieutenant to notorious bandit commander Kachalla Muhammadu, identified as Biliya, has reportedly been killed during a botched operation in the Matazu axis of Katsina State.
The confirmation reportedly emerged at about 11:34 p.m. during a conversation between two suspected bandit associates identified as Mamiyo and Juli Asso Maha.
During the conversation, Juli reportedly asked Mamiyo about Biliya’s whereabouts, apparently following concerns within the group over the fate of the senior lieutenant.
According to intelligence obtained by Zagazola Makama, and made available to SpyeTV News, Biliya was killed on August 14, 2026, after his gang reportedly came under an ambush by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA while carrying out an operation in the area.
Mamiyo, who was said to have recently returned from Kachalla Muhammadu’s location, reportedly disclosed that Biliya and members of his gang had embarked on an operation towards the northern part of their location in the Matazu axis.
According to the account, the terrrorists entered an undisclosed town and at some point left Biliya inside a shop.
The situation reportedly turned deadly when security forces launched an ambush against the group. Biliya was said to have been killed during the encounter.
Mamiyo reportedly confirmed the death after members of the group returned to the location of their leader and established that Biliya had been killed.
The development reportedly triggered anger and frustration among the bandits, with Juli expressing outrage over the loss of the senior commander.
Biliya was reportedly regarded within the group as one of Kachalla Muhammadu’s key lieutenants and was believed to have played a role in coordinating the group’s armed activities in parts of Katsina State.
His reported death could further disrupt the operational structure of Kachalla Muhammadu’s network, particularly if Biliya was directly involved in planning and coordinating attacks.
The intelligence also provides an insight into the movement and operational activities of the bandit group around communities in the Matazu axis.
Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have continued offensive operations against terrorists groups across Katsina and neighbouring states, targeting their commanders, fighters, logistics networks and hideouts.
However, authorities had yet to officially confirm the reported killing of Biliya as of the time of filing this report.
