The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, psc(+), NPM, is set to officially launch the Nigeria Police Force Vigilant App and MTN Closed User Group (CUG) Network on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, Abuja.
The initiative is part of the Nigeria Police Force’s ongoing efforts to strengthen technology-driven policing, enhance communication and improve operational efficiency across the Force.
In a press statement, the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, said the NPF Vigilant App is designed to improve engagement, information sharing and communication between the Police and members of the public.
He added that the MTN CUG Network would provide a dedicated communication platform to facilitate seamless and efficient communication among personnel of the Force.
According to the statement, the launch underscores the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police to leveraging modern technology and strategic partnerships to enhance policing, strengthen internal coordination and improve service delivery to Nigerians.
The Nigeria Police Force said the initiatives form part of its broader commitment to harnessing technology, innovation and strategic partnerships to strengthen policing, enhance operational effectiveness and deliver more responsive, efficient and people-centred security services across the country.
The launch is expected to mark another step in the Force’s drive towards modernising its operations and deepening the use of technology in addressing contemporary policing and security challenges.
