The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), has pledged total dedication to his new role as Secretary I of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election, while reaffirming his unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s national security.
Musa expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the APC for the appointment, describing the confidence reposed in him as a call to higher service.
In a press statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media, Leah Katung-Babatunde, the Minister assured the party leadership, stakeholders and supporters across the country of his commitment to executing the strategic responsibilities of the office with diligence, administrative rigour and focus.
He said his efforts would be directed towards supporting the party’s campaign objectives and ensuring electoral success.
The Minister, however, stressed that his constitutional responsibility of safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and protecting the lives and property of citizens remained absolute and uncompromising.
“National security remains our highest imperative. The ongoing operations, strategic reforms and inter-agency collaborations across the defence sector will continue unabated with increased vigour,” Musa stated.
He added that the Ministry of Defence would remain resolute in protecting Nigerians and advancing President Tinubu’s vision of a safe, secure and prosperous nation.
“Our resolve to uphold the mandate of the Ministry of Defence, protect our people, and drive Mr. President’s vision for a safe and prosperous Nigeria remains firm and unshakeable,” he said.
Musa called on APC members and other patriotic Nigerians to remain united in support of the administration, expressing confidence that the party would achieve success at the 2027 polls while sustaining efforts towards effective governance and improved security across the country.
