The body of a young woman was discovered inside a sack at a refuse dump in the Angwan Durun-Uwa community of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, in a development that has shocked residents.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the victim was later identified by relatives and acquaintances as Aliyah.
The discovery prompted residents to alert security agencies, following which personnel of the Plateau State Police Command visited the scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Some residents alleged that the killing was carried out by suspected Fulani militia. However, this claim has not been independently verified, and security authorities have not attributed responsibility for the crime.
The victim’s body has been evacuated, while investigators are working to determine the cause of death and identify those responsible.
The incident has triggered widespread outrage in the community, with residents calling for a thorough investigation and the swift arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators.
