Troops of the 233 Tank Battalion, in collaboration with members of the Yobe State Hunters Group, have arrested a suspected logistics supplier to Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during an intelligence-led operation in Damaturu Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Security sources disclosed that the suspect, identified as Zarami Ali, 27, a native of Ngirya Village in Tarmuwa Local Government Area, was apprehended at about 1:30 p.m. on July 7 following actionable intelligence.
The suspect and the recovered motorcycle tyres are currently in the custody of the 233 Tank Battalion, where investigations are ongoing to establish the full extent of the logistics network and identify other collaborators.
Military sources said the arrest is part of Operation HADIN KAI’s sustained intelligence-driven efforts to dismantle terrorist logistics and supply chains across the North-East. They noted that targeting logistics suppliers and collaborators remains a key component of ongoing counter-insurgency operations aimed at denying Boko Haram and ISWAP the resources required to sustain their activities.
The sources added that the military will continue to intensify operations against terrorist support networks to further degrade the operational capabilities of insurgent groups and enhance security across the region.
