The Commander Infantry Corps (CIC), Major General Godwin Mutkut, has commended the Headquarters 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Benin City, for its proactive operational posture and impressive administrative achievements during an operational assessment visit to the formation.
During the visit on Saturday, Major General Mutkut conveyed the goodwill of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, praising officers and soldiers for their loyalty, discipline, professionalism, resilience, and dedication to duty. He urged troops to remain committed to their constitutional responsibilities while upholding the core values and ethics of the Nigerian Army.
The Infantry Corps Commander also stressed the importance of strong family values, noting that a stable home front enhances effective military service. He lauded the Brigade’s sustained operational readiness, which he said has contributed significantly to maintaining peace and security across Edo State.
As part of the visit, Major General Mutkut commissioned several newly completed projects, including a remodelled Brigade Conference Room, a new Brigade Operations Room, a Brigade Sick Bay, an ultra-modern Fire Point, a Quarter Guard, and a newly constructed 4 Brigade Mascot and Fountain. He described the projects as major milestones that would boost operational efficiency, improve troop welfare, and enhance the working environment.
He also commended the Commander of 4 Brigade, Brigadier General Ahmed Balogun, for his visionary leadership and commitment to implementing the Chief of Army Staff’s command philosophy through infrastructure development and effective command.
In his remarks, Brigadier General Balogun expressed appreciation for the operational assessment visit and assured the Commander Infantry Corps that the Brigade would remain steadfast in protecting lives and property while maintaining the Nigerian Army’s high standards of professionalism, discipline, and operational excellence.
The visit also featured a tour of facilities within the Nigerian Army Cantonment in Ekehuan, Benin City, an interactive session with officers and soldiers, as well as the presentation of souvenirs.
