The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has paid a condolence visit to former Deputy Governor of Zamfara State and former Senator representing Zamfara Central, Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha, following the death of his wife, Hajiya Hauwa’u Kulu Nasiha.
During the visit to Gusau on Saturday, Matawalle described Senator Nasiha as a close friend, trusted ally and committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the family’s loss was shared by the entire APC family and the people of Zamfara.
According to a statement signed by the Minister’s Chief Information Officer, Queenet Iheoma-Hart, Matawalle said he was deeply saddened by the news of Hajiya Hauwa’u’s death, which occurred in India on Saturday.
“Senator Nasiha is a personal friend and a committed party stalwart. We worked closely together when I served as Governor and he as Deputy Governor. We shared many experiences in the service of Zamfara people,” the Minister said.
He added that the loss to Senator Nasiha’s family was a loss to all who knew and worked with him, noting that the deceased’s passing came as a shock.
Responding, Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha expressed appreciation to the Minister for the visit and described the death of his wife as a painful and irreparable loss to the family.
Matawalle prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased, asking Almighty Allah to grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus and give the bereaved family the strength, patience and fortitude to bear the loss.
The Minister was accompanied on the condolence visit by Senator Sahabi Alhaji Ya’u, former Deputy Governor Mukhtar Ahmad Anka, former Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya, Managing Director of the National Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC) Hon. Yazeed Shehu Danfulani, Zamfara APC Secretary Hon. Ibrahim Maigandi, and other party leaders and associates.
