The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to international military cooperation and strategic engagement as participants of the National Defence College (NDC), New Delhi, India, visited the Headquarters of the Nigerian Air Force in Abuja.

The delegation, comprising senior military officers and strategic-level participants undergoing the NDC’s advanced defence and security studies programme, was received on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, by the Chief of Air Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal NN Ananaba.

Led by Ms Anvita Sinha, the delegation visited HQ NAF on Tuesday as part of its study tour of Nigeria, aimed at fostering greater understanding of contemporary security issues and strengthening defence relations between both countries.

During the visit, the delegation received detailed briefings on the structure, roles and operational responsibilities of the Nigerian Air Force. The visitors were also updated on the Service’s ongoing transformation initiatives, operational activities across various theatres, and its contributions to national and regional security.

The engagement provided a platform for discussions on defence management, military transformation, international security cooperation and emerging security challenges. It also offered the visiting participants valuable insights into Nigeria’s security environment and the role of the NAF in protecting national sovereignty and supporting regional peace and stability efforts.

Officials noted that the visit highlights the growing importance of defence diplomacy and professional military education in building stronger international partnerships and promoting collaborative responses to evolving security threats.

The Nigerian Air Force said the engagement further reflects its commitment to knowledge sharing, mutual cooperation and the advancement of strategic defence relationships with partner nations, while reinforcing its position as a professional and globally engaged air force.
