The Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division, Brig. Gen. Brig. Gen. SS Diwa, has conducted an operational visit to troops deployed in Bama and adjoining areas under the 21 Special Armoured Brigade Area of Responsibility in Borno State.
Military sources said the GOC arrived Bama at about 10:00 a.m. on June 18, where he was received by the Commander, 21 Special Armoured Brigade, before proceeding to inspect quarters and receive operational briefings in the commander’s office.
The GOC subsequently visited several frontline locations, including 152 Task Force Battalion headquarters in Banki, Forward Operating Bases in Kumshe and Bulayobe, as well as 151 Task Force Battalion locations covering FOB Darell Jamel, FOB Miyanti, and the battalion headquarters at Banki Junction.
During the visit, Brig. Gen. Diwa interacted with troops and members of local vigilance groups, listening to their concerns and responding to operational observations raised during the engagements.
He commended the personnel for their resilience, professionalism, and sustained efforts in ongoing counter-insurgency operations, while urging them to remain vigilant and maintain the current operational tempo.
The Commander, 21 Special Armoured Brigade, expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the commitment of officers, soldiers, and vigilante groups under the formation to continue supporting ongoing operations.
The visit was concluded without incident.
