Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have neutralised three suspected terrorists during separate offensive operations conducted in Bama and Gwoza Local Government Areas of Borno State.
Military sources disclosed that personnel of the 202 Battalion successfully neutralised a suspected terrorist during an ambush operation carried out at about 7:00 p.m. on May 16, 2026, ahead of the Bravo Kilo 10 axis in Bama LGA.
According to the sources, the troops made contact with the suspect during the operation and engaged him successfully.
Items recovered from the scene included one Hand-Held Rocket (HHR) and a mobile phone.
In a separate operation, troops of the 153 Task Force Battalion, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and Hybrid Forces, neutralised two suspected ISWAP/JAS terrorists during a fighting patrol in Gwoza Local Government Area.
The operation, conducted at about 9:00 a.m. on May 15, 2026, covered the Valle, Ashigashiya and Gakara general areas.
Security sources said the troops encountered the terrorists during the patrol, leading to a gun battle in which two insurgents were neutralised, while several others escaped towards the Ngoshe axis.
Following the encounter, troops carried out exploitation of the surrounding area, although no further contact was recorded.
Military authorities said follow-up patrols and clearance operations were continuing across the affected areas to prevent terrorist movement and sustain pressure on insurgent elements operating within the Borno axis.
