Troops of the 33 Artillery Brigade, working alongside a team from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), have received a warm and heroic welcome from residents of Kampani Zurak community in Plateau State after successfully carrying out clearance operations against criminal enclaves in the area.
The troops returned to the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Kampani Zurak at about 7:20 p.m. on April 15, where they were greeted by appreciative residents who commended their efforts in restoring peace and security.
The show of support was further strengthened by a visit from the village head of Kampani Zurak and members of his entourage. They praised the troops for dismantling criminal hideouts and improving safety within the community and its surroundings.
Present during the visit were the Commander of the 33 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General S.S. Shehu, the ONSA team leader, and other senior officers involved in the operations.
Residents expressed gratitude for the sustained military presence, noting that the operations have brought a sense of relief and stability to the area after prolonged security challenges.
Security sources also indicated that the morale and combat readiness of the troops remain high, as efforts continue to consolidate gains and prevent any resurgence of criminal activities in the region.
