Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a suspected kidnapper during a targeted operation in Plateau State.
Security sources told Zagazola that the arrest was made at about 12:00 p.m. on April 21 by troops of Sector 8 under Operation Enduring Peace, deployed at Gyambwas.
The suspect was apprehended at Chanso village in Mangu Local Government Area following credible intelligence linking him to alleged kidnapping activities in the area.
According to the sources, troops carried out a swift and coordinated operation, leading to the suspect’s arrest without any resistance.
The arrested individual is currently in military custody undergoing preliminary interrogation, with plans for further investigation and possible handover to appropriate authorities.
Military authorities stated that the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks responsible for kidnapping and related crimes in the region.
They also reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to sustained security operations aimed at restoring peace and boosting public confidence across affected communities.
