Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) under Sector 6 have responded to an isolated attack on two civilians in Sabon Gida village, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources disclosed that the incident was reported at about 6:30 a.m. on April 20, prompting a swift deployment of troops to the scene.
Upon arrival, the troops discovered the body of one of the victims with machete wounds, while the second victim reportedly escaped during the attack.
Preliminary investigations have commenced to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.
Security authorities said patrols have since been intensified in the area to forestall further attacks, adding that the situation remains calm but is being closely monitored.
