The Spokesperson of Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, has been honoured by the Northern Youth Organisation of Nigeria (NYON) for his contributions to national development, youth empowerment, and public communication.
The award was presented during a courtesy visit by the organisation’s leadership to the Ministry in Abuja on Friday, April 17, 2026. According to NYON, the recognition followed a rigorous nomination process that identified Mr. Ebienfa among notable Nigerians who have demonstrated exceptional service to the country.
Speaking at the event, NYON President, Isah Ododo, praised the Foreign Affairs spokesperson for his role in promoting national unity and bridging ethnic and religious divides. He also commended his efforts in fostering transparency and effective communication in public service, describing him as a role model for young Nigerians.
The organisation, which draws membership from the 19 northern states, reaffirmed its commitment to tackling key national challenges, including insecurity, drug abuse, and inadequate investment in education, through advocacy and collaboration with government institutions.
In his response, Mr. Ebienfa expressed gratitude for the recognition, noting that it serves as motivation to continue contributing to national progress. He reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to engaging and empowering Nigerian youth in line with the country’s foreign policy goals and broader development agenda.
He further pledged to strengthen partnerships that advance national unity, youth development, and effective public engagement across the country.
