The Nigerian Legion has passed out 220 newly trained commissionaires following the completion of Course 16 at its training ground in Suleja.

According to a statement issued Friday by the Legion’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Vet A.A. Soaga-Adetoro, the Passing Out Parade marks another step in strengthening the Corps of Commissionaires and its role in community service and security support.

Addressing the graduates, National Chairman of the Legion, Grace Morenike Henry, urged them to uphold discipline, integrity, and professionalism in their duties. She emphasized the organization’s zero tolerance for misconduct, warning that any act capable of bringing disrepute to the Council could result in dismissal.

Henry also cautioned the commissionaires against engaging in criminal activities and clarified that their paramilitary training does not equate to military status, stressing the distinct responsibilities of the Corps. She, however, assured members of ongoing efforts to improve welfare and create better opportunities within the Legion.

Earlier, the Commandant of the Corps of Commissionaires in the Federal Capital Territory, Captain NH Bako, commended recent reforms under the current leadership, describing them as impactful to the growth and efficiency of the Corps.

He encouraged the newly graduated personnel to apply the knowledge and discipline acquired during training, noting that these values would be critical in carrying out their responsibilities effectively.

The ceremony highlights the Nigerian Legion’s continued commitment to professionalism, discipline, and service to humanity.
