He was immediately evacuated for medical attention and is currently in stable condition. Authorities have since commenced an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In a separate development in Adamawa State, a member of a local hunters’ group has died following an accidental explosion during a joint patrol with troops in Gombi Local Government Area.

Security sources disclosed that the incident occurred at about 10:15 a.m. on April 24, when troops of 232 Battalion (Tactical), alongside the hunters’ group, conducted a fighting patrol around Member Farm and Dogon Kuka areas.

According to the sources, the patrol team was returning along the Garkida–Gombi axis when the incident happened. One of the hunters reportedly stepped on a primed rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) tube inside a gun truck, triggering a partial explosion.
