Abia Police Screen 1,627 Applicants in 2026 Recruitment Exercise

The Abia State Police Command has successfully concluded the 2026 Physical and Credential Screening Exercise, recording a total of 1,627 applicants screened over the six-week period.


The exercise, which commenced on March 9, 2026, and ended on April 18, 2026, was held at the Police Officers’ Mess, opposite Damgrete Hotel, Factory Road, Umuahia.


In a press statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chioma Chinaka, confirmed that the screening process was conducted with a high level of professionalism, fairness, and transparency throughout its duration.


Providing a breakdown of the final week, Chinaka disclosed that 293 applicants were screened between April 13 and April 18. The daily figures included 51 applicants on Monday, 51 on Tuesday, 48 on Wednesday, 59 on Thursday, 48 on Friday, and 36 on Saturday.


She further outlined the weekly totals recorded during the exercise: 322 applicants in the first week, 157 in the second week, 292 in the third week, 308 in the fourth week, 255 in the fifth week, and 293 in the sixth week.


According to the Command, the screening exercise progressed smoothly without major issues, marking a successful completion of the phase in the ongoing recruitment process.


Applicants who have participated in the screening have been advised to remain patient and await further updates, which will be communicated through the official recruitment portal and other public channels.
