The Nigerian Army has announced that successful candidates for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026 are to report for officer cadet training at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI), Jaji, Kaduna State, on Friday, 27 March 2026.
In a public announcement released by the Army, the list of successful candidates from the DSSC 29/2026 Selection Board has been published online and can be accessed through the recruitment portal at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng.
The Army directed all successful candidates to report to the Officer Cadet Training Wing (OCTW) of NASI Jaji with the required documents and personal items necessary for the commencement of their training.
According to the announcement, candidates must come along with their original credentials, including online printouts bearing their passport photographs, as well as writing materials. They are also required to present several clothing and personal kits such as plain white round-neck vests, royal-blue shorts without stripes, white trainers, maroon-red vests, navy-blue track suits, long sleeve shirts, black tie, black belt, trousers, socks, a lounge suit, national dress or suits, and casual wears.
Other required items include a rubber-strapped wristwatch, black cover shoes, swimming trunks, white bed sheets and pillowcases, a grey or army green blanket, football boots and a pressing iron.
Female candidates were further instructed to bring additional items including a pair of black low-heel cover shoes, four dark-coloured lounge skirts, four pairs of tight shorts in black or blue, and two trouser suits.
The Army also directed serving military personnel who were successful in the selection process to report with official release letters and passes from their respective commanders or commanding officers.
The statement warned that any successful candidate who fails to report for training on 27 March 2026 will forfeit the slot, which will then be offered to candidates on the reserve list.
Reserve candidates were, however, advised not to report to NASI Jaji, noting that they would only be contacted if vacancies arise. The Army added that there would be no vacancy for reserve candidates after 20 April 2026.
The DSSC programme is one of the Nigerian Army’s key commissioning routes designed to recruit qualified professionals into the officer cadre to strengthen the service’s operational and technical capabilities.
