Federal High Court Acquits Suspended DCP Abba Kyari Of Criminal Charges

0 Admin

A Federal High Court has discharged and acquitted Abba Kyari, bringing an end to the criminal charges previously filed against the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Delivering judgment, the court held that the prosecution failed to establish sufficient evidence to sustain the allegations brought against the senior police officer.

Kyari, who once headed the Intelligence Response Team of the Nigeria Police Force, had been under intense public and legal scrutiny following investigations into alleged misconduct.

However, the court ruled that the case did not meet the legal threshold required for conviction, leading to his discharge and acquittal.

The judgment effectively clears Kyari of the charges and marks a major development in one of the country’s most closely watched law enforcement cases.

The suspended officer’s case had drawn widespread attention within Nigeria’s security and legal circles, given his previous role in leading several high-profile crime-fighting operations across the country.
