The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has announced that the physical and credential screening for candidates in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 police constables will commence on March 9, 2026, nationwide.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Commission said the screening exercise will run until April 18, 2026, across designated centres in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the PSC, all applicants who successfully completed the online registration process are required to log into the recruitment portal to check their application status and print the necessary documents ahead of the exercise.
The Commission listed the required documents to include the Guarantors Form, Application Submission Slip, Invitation Slip, Credentials Screening Form, and Physical Screening Form. Candidates must present these at their respective screening venues on the date and time stated on their invitation slips.
The PSC further directed applicants to bring along key credentials, including the original National Identity Number (NIN) printout or NIMC-issued card, O’ Level certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, and Local Government or state of origin certificate.
Specialist applicants are also expected to present their trade test or professional certificates, while all candidates must submit duly completed guarantors’ forms with photocopies of referees’ identification and passport photographs attached.
In addition, applicants are required to present both original and duplicate copies of their credentials, neatly packaged in two separate white flat files, each with recent passport photographs attached.
The Commission stated that candidates must appear at the screening venues wearing white canvas shoes, white T-shirts, white shorts, and white stockings, adding that the specific screening locations will be indicated on each candidate’s invitation slip.
Chairman of the PSC, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (retd), reiterated that the recruitment process is free and does not require any payment at any stage. He assured that the exercise would be conducted with transparency and accountability.
He also warned applicants to be cautious of fraudsters and online scammers attempting to exploit the recruitment exercise, stressing that anyone found engaging in such activities would be arrested and prosecuted.
The Commission urged all candidates to comply strictly with the guidelines to ensure a smooth and credible screening process.
