The Abia State Police Command on Wednesday, 5 February 2026, received nineteen (19) Regular Course 8 Cadet Officers from the Nigeria Police Academy for a two-month attachment.

The cadet officers, who are all indigenes of Abia State, comprise seven (7) females and twelve (12) males.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, welcomed the cadets at the Command Headquarters alongside members of his management team. In his address, the CP explained that the attachment is designed to acquaint the cadets with the operational norms of conventional policing and to expose them to practical police duties.

He disclosed that the attachment would commence at Divisional Police Stations across the Command, where the cadets would be rotated through the four major departments of a Division: the Counter, Administrative Office, Divisional Crime Branch (DCB), and the Motor Traffic Department (MTD).

CP Danladi further informed the cadets that performance reports would be compiled on each officer at the end of the attachment, warning them to maintain good conduct and uphold the values instilled in them by the Nigeria Police Academy. He charged them to demonstrate discipline at all times and to avoid any conduct capable of bringing disrepute to the Command.

The Commissioner encouraged the cadets to take full advantage of the attachment by humbling themselves to learn the practical aspects of policing, stressing the need for professionalism, dedication, and the fear of God in the discharge of their duties.

Responding on behalf of the cadets, Cadet ASP Precious Orji expressed appreciation to the Commissioner of Police for the warm reception and assured him that they would conduct themselves responsibly and serve as worthy ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Academy throughout the two-month attachment in Abia State.
