The Nigeria Police Force has formally announced the 15th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA) – Asaba 2026, a major national sporting event scheduled to hold from 14 to 21 February 2026 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State.
With the theme “Beyond the Badge: Excellence in Action” and the slogan “Discipline, Dignity & Dedication,” the Games underscore the Force’s commitment to professionalism, physical fitness, unity, and excellence beyond routine policing duties.
The event will be hosted by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, while the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, will serve as Host.
BIPOGA Asaba 2026 is expected to attract over 6,000 athletes and coaches drawn from the 17 Police Zonal Commands and the Force Headquarters, competing across a record 35 sporting events. These include Archery, Arm Wrestling, Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Boxing, Chess, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, Football, Frisbee (Flying Disc), Golf, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Karate, Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts, Netball, Polo, Rugby, Scrabble, Shooting Sport, Squash, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, and Kungfu.
Described as the next largest sports festival in Nigeria after the National Sports Festival, BIPOGA 2026 promises a vibrant showcase of athleticism, discipline, and teamwork, while strengthening camaraderie within the Nigeria Police Force and fostering positive engagement with the public.
Asaba—popularly known as the “Big Heart”—is poised to deliver a colourful, well-coordinated, and historic edition of the Police Games, reinforcing sports as a powerful tool for unity, wellness, and national pride.
