The Commander, 21 Special Armour Brigade, Bama, Brigadier General Tosin Ayoola, has engaged leaders of various community volunteer forces in a closed-door strategic meeting aimed at consolidating recent operational gains and intensifying coordinated actions against Boko Haram terrorists.
The engagement, held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Brigade Officers’ Mess in Bama, formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration between the Nigerian Army and vetted community-based security volunteers operating within the Brigade’s Area of Responsibility.
In a statement signed by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 21 Special Armour Brigade, Lieutenant Abubakar Muhammad Sani, the meeting focused on enhancing operational synergy, improving information discipline, and sustaining momentum in ongoing counterterrorism operations.
During the interaction, Brigadier General Ayoola acknowledged the sacrifices, courage, and resilience demonstrated by the volunteer forces in supporting military operations. He, however, stressed the critical importance of discretion, unity of effort, and strict adherence to established command and control structures.
The Brigade Commander reiterated that all sensitive operational details remain classified, noting that safeguarding information is essential to preventing terrorists from gaining forewarning of security actions.
He also emphasized that continued success in ongoing operations depends on trust, coordination, and intelligence sharing within approved frameworks, while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.
In their remarks, the volunteer force commanders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting security efforts in Bama and surrounding communities. They pledged continued cooperation with the Nigerian Army to ensure sustained pressure on terrorist elements through lawful, intelligence-driven, and coordinated operations.
